NYC’s best? Ninth Street Espresso

Long live the king! Ken Nye opened Ninth Street Espresso in 2001, the first to really bring the avant-garde espresso bar to New York. Ten years later, Ninth Street still makes the best espresso/macchiato/cappuccino/latte in the city, albeit now with lots of competition. And we’re thankful for that competition.

Third Rail first stop in the Village?

With Caffetteria now shuttered — and I’m still mourning that development — the best bet for a cappuccino in the Village or Soho is Third Rail Coffee on Sullivan Street, just a few short steps from Washington Square Park.

Getting some Culture

I really want to like Culture Espresso. I really do. It’s got good-looking baked goods, though I haven’t given in as of yet. And you can grab a sandwich, too (haven’t tried those, either, but I will at some point). Best of all, it’s located in Midtown, and the good espresso bars are few and far between in the city.
